About PYBC
Founded in London in 2015 in and now based in Edinburgh. PYBC is an independent contemporary wooden ball jewellery and lifestyle design studio.
Rooted in the philosophy of "Design in Life ; Life in Design" PYBC transforms fragments of everyday life into wearable and living objects - exploring the relationship between form, memory, texture and ritual.
Inspired by architecture, geometry, nature and the human body, each piece reflects a quite dialogue between design and daily living.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Life is filled with unnoticed beauty.
The curves of the body.
Texture of wood and stone.
Patterns found in architecture.
Light, shadow and movement.
PYBC draws from these subtle moments and transforms them into contemporary forms designed to be worn, held and lived with.
More than adornment, each object is created as a storyteller for life - carrying emotion, memory and atmosphere through material and form.
THE ORIGIN OF THE WOODEN BALL
The signature wooden sphere of PYBC originated from a childhood memory of Kendama - a Japanese traditional wooden toy defined by balance, movement and connection.
What began as a personal fascination evolved into the foundation of the brand's jewellery language.
Smooth, sculptural and tactile, the wooden ball became a recurring symbol within PYBC - representing simplicity, playfulness and time less form.
CRAFTSMANSHIP
Kendama Wooden Ball Jewellery
Each PYBC piece is individually handcrafted using carefully selected natural materials, including golden sandalwood and rosewood.
The wood is hand-shaped and polished into refined spherical forms then paired with layers of 14K, 18K or 24K gold plating, as well as 925 silver details.
Balancing softness with structure, every piece embraces the organic warmth of natural materials alongside contemporary minimal design.
PYBC.LIFE
Lifestyle Design
In 2021, PYBC expanded into lifestyle design through the creation of PYBC.LIFE - a collection of objects designed for everyday rituals and living spaces.
Guided by a zero-waste approach, remaining wood fragments from jewellery production are repurposed into incense and other lifestyle objects, allowing materials to continue their story beyond adornment.
Incense sticks, candles, room spray and everyday objects are created with sustainability and longevity in mind - extending the PYBC philosophy into daily life.
We exists between jewellery, objects and atmosphere.
Creating contemporary pieces that quietly integrate into everyday living - where design is not separate from life, but part of it.
